The A2415 Cellular AP installation process generally includes the following:

  1. Select and prepare the installation site (details for the following are not included in this guide):

    1. Use the Hamina RF planning tool to determine requirements. Learn about using Hamina by visiting https://docs.hamina.com/planner.

    2. Develop an installation plan. Note that the chosen site must have an available connection to the network and an accessible power source.

    3. Map out the cable routing for internet/Ethernet and power cables.

    4. If needed, install a mounting pole on the roof of your structure.

    5. Based on the RF site survey and design, select and source the correct cellular RF antennas for your A2415 (see below).

    6. Install cellular antennas.

  2. Install the GNSS antenna.

  3. Mount the cellular AP (wall or pole).

  4. Connect antennas, power, and Ethernet connections as chosen according to your site plan.

  5. Attach the grounding cables to the cellular AP, power adapter, and surge protector.

  6. Power on the cellular AP and check LED status.

  7. Walk the site's broadcast footprint and verify RF transmissions are acceptable.

Sourcing External Antennas

One or two external antennas are required for the A2415 Cellular AP to function properly. Cradlepoint does not sell or support any external antennas for the cellular AP. The antennas listed below are compatible with the A2415 and may be ordered at the same time as the cellular AP. If ordered this way, the antennas are shipped by a third party. Additional compatible antennas may be available from other vendors.
