User the following steps to create alert notification rules.
From the Alerts & Logs page, click Set up Alerts.
Click Add to open the Alert wizard interface. The Alert wizard is a four-step interface for creating Alert Rules. This process includes the following steps:
Specifying the Alert Type(s) to add to the Alert Rule.
Selecting the accounts/groups to apply the Alert Rule.
Setting an interval for when Alert notifications are sent and specifying the recipients of the notification email or Webhook Destinations.
Reviewing a summary of the Alert Rule, and saving the Alert Rule.
Specify the Alert Type(s) to create on the Alert Type screen.
Alert Types from more than one category can be selected. In the following image, three Configuration-related Alert Types are selected, two General Alert Types are selected, and two Modem-related Alert Types are selected.
Note
Some alerts can be set with specific time thresholds or other limitations. Enabling these additional settings reduces the number of notifications sent. Refer to Alert Type Categories and Definitions for more information.
Note
Carrier Data Alert Types require slightly more configuration than other Alert Types. See Create Carrier Data Alerts in this article for details.
Click Next after selecting the Alert Type(s) for the Alert Rule.
Select the account or groups to apply the Alert Rule. Selecting the top-level account selects all the groups and nested accounts that belong to the top-level account. Alternatively, you can select just a single group, or a combination of groups (as shown below), to apply the Alert Rule.
Click Next after selecting the accounts/groups for the Alert Rule.
Note
Click Back to view settings or make changes on previous screens.
Select the interval for when the Alert is logged to the Alert Log and when email or push (Webhook) notifications are sent. The following notification intervals are available:
Email and push notifications are sent only when an interval other than None is selected. When an interval other than None is selected, choose the Webhook Destinations or Email Recipients.
None: logs the Alert but does not send a notification.
Immediately: logs the Alert and sends notifications of the Alert when it occurs.
Hourly: logs the Alert and sends notifications at the beginning of the hour following the alert occurrence.
Daily: logs the Alert and sends a notification at the beginning of the next day (12:00 a.m. based on UTC).
Select the Webhook Destinations or Email Recipients to activate for the rule alerts.
