Use Carrier Data alerts to create alerts for cellular-data usage for pooled data plans and for routers, on a per-carrier basis. Carrier Data alerts are configured using the Carrier Data menu item on the Summary tab in the Add Alert Notification Rule wizard interface.

The Add Alert Notification Rule wizard interface can also be started from the Cellular Data Dashboard page using the Add Cellular Provider Alert link.

Use the following steps to create Carrier Data alerts:

  1. Click the Carrier Data menu item. Alerts can be created for Pooled Carrier Data Usage and Carrier Data Usage Per Router.

    Both Pooled Carrier Data Usage and Carrier Data Usage Per Router Alert Types use the following settings. These settings are configurable in the Dashboard > Cellular Data Settings panel image20.png.

    • Cellular Provider/Carrier Name: The cellular-provider account to apply the Alert Rule.

    • Billing Start Day: The start day for the billing cycle.

    • Monthly Data Limit: The monthly data limit on the pooled account or router. This setting is only configurable from the device Dashboard > Modem usage > Settings.

      Important

      The Monthly Data Limit value set in the Carrier Settings dialog is a user-defined value stored in NetCloud Manager. The data-usage amounts recorded by NetCloud Manager (used for comparison to the Monthly Data Limit) are estimates and may differ from the carrier's data-usage amounts. The carrier is the final authority for billing purposes.

      Changing the Monthly Data Limit value for a pooled data account also changes the data limit value for any existing alerts for Verizon Pooled Data Usage.

    • Alert At: Enter a numeric value to indicate the percentage of data used, relative to the Monthly Data Limit value, for triggering the alert notification. Usage-data alerts can be configured to trigger notifications at varying data-usage percentages by separating the usage-percentage values in the Alert At field with commas.

      For example, to configure data-usage alert notifications at 50%, 75%, 95%, and 110% (usage-percentage values can exceed 100% but not 250%) of the monthly data limit, type 50, 75, 95, 110 in the Alert At field.
