Complete the following steps to create a group:

  1. Log into NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Groups in the left-side navigation panel.

  3. Select Add.

  4. Enter a descriptive name for the group.

  5. If you use subaccounts to isolate users from viewing certain devices, select the subaccount. See Managing Subaccounts in NetCloud Manager to learn more.Managing Subaccounts in NetCloud Manager

    Note

Subaccounts are not available when creating a group for a NetCloud Exchange Service Gateway.

  6. Select the Product type (for example, E3000 routers or a appliance).

    Tip

If remote users have different endpoint models, create a separate group for each model.

  7. From the Firmware Version drop-down menu, choose the NetCloud OS version. Selecting the latest version of NetCloud OS deploys the latest patches and security updates.

    Note

Devices downgrade or upgrade to match the group NetCloud OS version when placed into the group.

  8. Choose Standard from the NetCloud OS Type list unless using a qualified product to control a Captive Modem. Refer to Captive Modem to learn more.

  9. Select Save to save the Group.
