Improperly updating the NetCloud OS, or a failure during the upgrade, can permanently damage your router. The upgrade process takes several minutes. Do not unplug your router from the power supply during this process.
Per best practices, update NetCloud OS using a group in NetCloud Manager whenever possible.
As of release 7.0.71, NetCloud OS upgrades are no longer available for manual or offline download. Upgrades must be performed using NetCloud Manager with an active subscription. For more information, see the Subscriptions and Licenses FAQ.
For more information or to download NetCloud OS release notes, see NetCloud OS Release Notes.
For devices that include 5GF or newer modems, including routers and captive modems like the R2400 and RC1250, NetCloud OS upgrades include modem upgrades in a Unified Software Update.
Note
Downgrading NetCloud OS to a version earlier than 5.2.0 requires resetting the router to factory default settings.
