Data Retention
Many different types of data are stored in NetCloud. The data stored for an account is generally dependent on the features available and enabled within that account. The retention period for the data varies according to the type of data stored:
-
NCOS Device and Settings data – for example, device configurations and state information – is only removed if a device is unregistered from NetCloud, or 90 days after termination of service.
-
Signal Strength (LTE signal strength) - 7 days
-
Analytics and Historical data (for example, WAN Uptime and Client Analytics) - 30 days
-
Health Uptime analytics - 60 days
-
Client Analytics - 30 days
-
Traffic Analytics - 30 days
-
Modem data usage - 90 days
-
WAN data usage - 90 days
-
Alert logs - 90 days
-
Activity Log data - 30 days
-
NCOS Device Logs - 30 days
-
Security Analytics - 60 days
-
Failover Events - One year
-
Location Services/Breadcrumbing - One year
NOTE: Location Services/Breadcrumbing data is available in NetCloud Manager for 60 days. After 60 days, and up to a year later, this data is only available via the NetCloud API.
A disposal process runs daily to ensure data older than the retention period is removed from the system.
NetCloud also stores system and application audit data, in accordance with PCI compliance standards, for 390 days.
Maintenance – Notice Requirements
NetCloud frequently releases new features and improvements, as well as making system infrastructure updates when necessary. Cradlepoint is sensitive to our customers’ business continuity and have the following practice regarding maintenance notices:
-
If the site must be taken offline for a planned maintenance, 3 business days’ notice is provided.
-
If the site must be taken offline for an emergency or unplanned maintenance – a critical security patch for example – 1 business day or less notice is provided.
-
If the site remains available, no notice is provided. However, notice of new features and improvements will often be communicated.
Notice of maintenance and updated will be provided via status.cradlepoint.com. To receive notices, customers must opt-in to these communications by clicking the Subscribe to Updates button on the main page.
Suspension of Service – Renewal Notice Requirements
NetCloud is a subscription and as such, is subject to end dates. Cradlepoint strives to provide ample notice to partners and customers of these end dates and utilizes the following renewal notices requirements to avoid potential service interruptions.
-
An email notice will be sent to the partner at 90 days prior to expiration.
-
An email notice will be sent to the partner and the end customer (NetCloud Administrator) at 30 days prior to expiration.
-
An email notice will also be sent to the customer (NetCloud Administrator) on the date of expiration.
The foregoing is subject to change by Cradlepoint without notice. Please review these Business Practices periodically for the latest updates.
