Configuring Proxy ARP with 1:1 NAT

The following is an example configuration.

  1. Log into NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Devices in the left-side navigation panel.

  3. Select a router from the Routers page. Alternatively, to make configuration changes to a group, navigate to the Groups page and select a group.

  4. Select Configuration and then Edit.

  5. Navigate to SECURITY > Zone Firewall > NAT.

  6. Under NAT select Add.

  7. Configure the NAT settings:

    1. From the Bound Interfaces/Zone drop-down menu, select WAN Zone.

    2. In the Original Destination IP file enter the inbound public IP address that will be translated from an external to internal address.

    3. In the NAT To Network field enter the IP address of the internal host that the public IP address will be attached to.

    4. Select Add Proxy ARP Routes.

  8. Navigate to SECURITY > Zone Firewall > Filter Policies.

  9. Select Add.

  10. In the Policy Name field enter a name.

  11. For Action, select Deny.

  12. Select Add.

  13. In the Rule Name field, enter a name.

  14. For Action, select Allow.

  15. Select the Destination tab.

  16. Select the plus plus-icon.png icon under Host and enter the local host's IP address.

    Note

    If you need to ping the end device add ICMP under the Protocols tab. Add an additional rule, name it, and select Deny.

  17. Select Save to save the rule.

  18. Select Save to save the policy.

  19. Navigate to SECURITY > Zone Firewall > Zone Forwarding.

  20. Select the filter policy for WAN Zone to Primary LAN Zone

  21. Select Edit.

  22. From the Filter Policy column, selec the custom filter policy you created above.

  23. Select Save.

  24. Navigate to Connection Manager.

  25. Select your primary WAN interface and select Edit.

  26. Select Ethernet, and the check Proxy ARP.

  27. Select Save.

  28. Select Commit.
