NetCloud OS and LAN OS software resides on the Ericsson endpoints and is included in a NetCloud Service subscription. Keeping NetCloud OS and LAN OS software up to date is crucial to ensure the benefits of new features, enablement of required security enhancements, and to receive improved stability and performance during the lifespan of Ericsson NetCloud services.

NetCloud OS and LAN OS versions older than 24 months are unsupported. While NetCloud, NetCloud OS, and LAN OS functionality remains active, to engage Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions Global Service & Support for assistance, customers are required to upgrade to supported versions of NetCloud OS and LAN OS.
Following is Ericsson's NetCloud OS and LAN OS support policy:
Endpoints or groups on an unsupported release of NetCloud OS and LAN OS continue to work as configured. Note that new groups can't be created using unsupported NetCloud OS versions.
NetCloud Manager shows an unsupported release of NetCloud OS and LAN OS as "X.X.XX (Date Unsupported)".
While Ericsson does not deliberately remove any functionality, unsupported versions of NetCloud OS or LAN OS are not tested. Any loss of features or functionality requires a NetCloud OS or LAN OS update to restore functionality.
Because unsupported versions of NetCloud OS and LAN OS are not tested, any issues that occur on unsupported versions of NetCloud OS or LAN OS that require assistance from Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions Global Services & Support require a NetCloud OS or LAN OS update prior to support engagement.
Customers and partners should follow documented Best Practices for Upgrading Ericsson Modem and NetCloud OS Software when migrating from older versions of NetCloud OS to newer versions and Updating NetCloud OS and LAN OS for LAN Solutions Devices when migrating from older versions of LAN OS to new versions.
The last supported releases of NetCloud OS and LAN OS for end-of-life products are not subject to this policy until the device's Last Date of Support.
Security patches are made to older NetCloud OS and LAN OS versions if the version is the last supported version for an affected platform.
