Use the following steps to configure cellular modem band masking:

  1. Log into NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Devices in the left-side navigation panel.

  3. Select a router from the Routers page. Alternatively, to make configuration changes to a group, navigate to the Groups page and select a group.

  4. Select Configuration and then Edit.

  5. Select the appropriate profile, such as 5G/LTE Multi-mode Modems, and then select Edit.

  6. On the WAN Interface Profile page, selectModem.

  7. Select Show Advanced Settings.

  8. Select Enable Band Masking.

A new area displays at the bottom of the page. Some sample band masks have been added for example only:

    Note

Enabling band masking overrides other band-related advanced settings. These settings turn gray when Enable Band Masking is selected.

  9. Enter any LTE, 5G NSA, and 5G SA bands to be masked (disallowed) in the appropriate fields. Both uppercase and lowercase band prefixes (such as B and n) are allowed in the notation.

    Important

Any disallowed bands entered into the fields are not cross verified to check whether they are supported or unsupported by the current modem. Research the modem capabilities before masking any bands. Entries are syntax checked, however. Precede all band numbers with a letter (B/b or N/n), and separate multiple entries with a comma. Do not include spaces. Any bands entered here will persist even when you navigate away from the page.

    Note

To re-enable any bands that were previously masked, return to this page and delete the desired band.

  10. Select Save.

  11. Select Commit Changes.

    Note

The modem reboots when band masking is applied. If band masking is attempted on unsupported modems, no changes are made to the modem configuration.
