Alerts and Activity logs provide information about the state and activity in your account. For a brief overview, see the following video:
Alerts
The NetCloud Manager Alerts feature provides a means to automatically notify users when the operational state of their devices changes.
Alerts are messages generated by NetCloud Manager in response to specific operational-state changes that a device may experience. These operational state-change events can be triggered by changes in connectivity (for example, loss of WAN connectivity), environment (for example, excessive hardware temperature or geo-location changes), and user actions (for example, intrusion activity or failed logins).
Alerts are implemented as part of an Alert Notification Rule (Alert Rule). One or more Alert Types are combined into a single Alert Rule. Alert Rules are applied at the account or group level. This allows a single Alert Rule (containing one or more Alert Types) to be applied to all groups in an account, or to one or more groups in an account.
Note
Reporting functionality is contained on the INSIGHTS page. The INSIGHTS page provides the ability to create and export reports and logs, including Alert Log reports. Refer to NetCloud Manager Insights Overview for more information on creating Alert Log reports.
See Alerting and Reporting for more information.
Activity Log
The NetCloud Manager Activity Log allows you to review actions that have taken place in your account, including the following: creation and deletion of users. registration of devices and creation and deletion of groups.
NetCloud Manager Activity Log events are recorded in a concise, structured format. This format contains who is responsible for the event, what the event is, and which entity in NetCloud Manager is affected by the event. Activity Log events are created and logged when an initiator (known as an actor) performs an activity (known as an action) upon an NetCloud Manager entity (known as an object) within an NetCloud Manager account.
