  • Import custom certificates for HTTPS access to a Cradlepoint
  • Install SSL web cert
  • Add a Web Certificate for ssl device management
  • NCOS 7.23.50+
  • Local or NCM access to device configuration

  1. From the Menu select Security > Certificate Management > PKCS12
    1. Name: This will be used for identification in the UI
    2. Passphrase:  The one that was used to originally encrypt the P12 file
    3. Certificate File: Browse to the p12 file that you wish to import.
    4. "Import/Upload Certificate"

  1. Navigate to Local Certificates and verify the new certificate and it's CA Certificate are present in the list.

  1. Navigate to System > Administration > Local Management
    1. Check "Require HTTPS Connection"
    2. "SSL Certificate" drops down, Select the certificate just imported. DO NOT select the CA certificate.
    3.  Save

  1. Navigate to the HTTPS address of the cradlepoint and validate.
   HTTPS Success
    • Importing a certificate on a Cradlepoint should be done using a P12 (PKCS12) Chain, this ensures the Cradlepoint will have it's Public and Private key linked to the Certificate Authority's Public Key.
    • Ensure the Signing Certificate Authority is trusted on the machine that will be accessing the Cradlepoint.
