Use the following steps to enable a Telnet-to-Serial configuration.

  1. Log into NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Devices in the left-side navigation panel.

  3. Select a router from the Routers page. Alternatively, to make configuration changes to a group, navigate to the Groups page and select a group.

  4. Select Configuration and then Edit.

  5. Navigate to SYSTEM > Serial Redirector.

  6. Select Telnet to Serial Configuration and configure the following settings:

    • Enabled – Enabling Telnet to Serial will start a Telnet server that passes its connection to the serial adapter. Enabling this service is not necessary when accessing serial through SSH.

    • LAN – Enable serial redirector for LAN connections.

    • Authenticated LAN – Enable serial redirector for Authenticated LAN connections. You must be logged into the router to use the redirector.

    • WAN – Enable serial redirector for WAN connections.

    • Server Port – Enter a port number for the redirector to use. (Default: 7218)
