How do I preserve the configuration of a router when unregistering from NetCloud Manager?

The configuration of a device is automatically preserved on a device when the device is unregistered from NetCloud Manager.

If the device is then reregistered to NetCloud Manger the configuration will be saved as a device-level configuration even if parts had come from a group configuration.

2.

How to find who removed (unregistered) a device from NetCloud Manager?

To find who removed (unregistered) a device from NetCloud Manager, complete the following steps:

  1. Export activity logs containing the date range in question. See Exporting an Activity Log for more information.

  2. Open the activity logs file and search using ctrl+f for MAC address or NetCloud Manager user name.

    Note

To discover which NetCloud Manager user has removed (unregistered) a device from NetCloud Manager, you require the device MAC address or name of the device in NetCloud Manager along with the tentative date when it was removed. Only 30 days of activity log data is available, so if the device was removed outside of this duration, then the activity logs would not have the data.

  3. To find the information within the activity log:

    1. MAC address and device name in NetCloud Manager are displayed under object_name column.

    2. An unregister event will display under activity_type_name as delete.

    3. NetCloud Manager user is displayed under actor_name column,

    4. The date and time is displayed under created_at column.
