The WAN Uptime card displays the overall WAN uptime for the account. This card is based on the aggregated uptime for all the routers in the account.

The method for displaying WAN uptime information depends on your Cradlepoint subscription and your NetCloud OS version.

  • With an Advanced Service Plan and NCOS version 7.1.60 or later, uptime information is displayed by WAN service type (5G, LTE, 3G, 2G, Ethernet, Wi-Fi as WAN). If the WAN service type cannot be determined, Unknown is displayed.

  • With an Essentials for Mobile, Branch Enterprise, Branch Connectivity, or Branch Performance Service Plan, uptime is displayed as percentages of Offline and Uncategorized.

Note

If you have an Advanced package and NetCloud OS 7.1.60 or earlier, the WAN Uptime card has reduced information.

The trend data displayed at the bottom of the WAN Uptime card is based on calculations using historical data from your router. Remember the following when viewing the trending data feature:

  • When selecting a time period for trending data with the date range filter, the selected time period is compared to the equivalent time period immediately preceding the selected time period. This means that when reviewing seven-day trend data, for example, the previous seven days are compared to the seven days that preceded them.

  • The text No trend data displays when not enough data is available for comparison for the selected time period.

  • The text No change displays when the data for the selected time period does not differ.

Note

Uptime and downtime calculations are based on the selected date range filter and default to the last seven days.

Considerations

The following conditions should be considered when evaluating the uptime information presented on the Health Dashboard:

  • WAN uptime data is available for routers with NetCloud OS 6.2 or later.

  • Uptime statistics are updated hourly.

  • Removing a router from NetCloud Manager, or moving a router to a new group, does not affect the historically collected group uptime data. The history does not change if a router's group membership changes.

Tip

The US0 region NetCloud Manager production instance has a weekly maintenance window from Sunday 12:00 UTC to Sunday 13:00 UTC. Maintenance is usually lasts 15 minutes. During this time users may briefly see server errors for Wan Uptime and QoE. No data is lost during maintenance.
