You can configure an Ericsson Cradlepoint router with multiple content filtering instances for different VLANs. These instructions show how to set up content filtering for each IP network, allowing or blocking access to specific URLs or IP addresses. Enabling content filtering instances allows the router to filter unencrypted content by IP address or URL for each VLAN independently. To filter encrypted traffic (e.g., HTTPS), enable the "Filter HTTPS Traffic" checkbox. For category-based content filtering, follow the instructions in Configure OpenDNS Content Filtering.

Note

While filtering encrypted traffic (e.g., HTTPS), the Network Web Filter cannot redirect or display that the request is blocked. However, Network Web Filter can drop the connection if CONNECT request matches the URL(s) specified because it cannot read or replace the encrypted response.
