A factory reset will revert all configuration changes to their default state. The two exceptions are the NetCloud credentials and the endpoint's registration to the NetCloud service. After the factory reset is completed, the endpoint will reestablish a connection to NetCloud Manager if the endpoint has a viable internet connection.

A factory reset can be performed from NetCloud Manager, NetCloud OS setup pages, or from the endpoint itself.

Warning

Performing a factory reset will erase all endpoint configurations and is not reversible. Factory resetting an unlicensed device with NetCloud OS version 7.1.0, or later, will return the device to a “unknown license state.” In this state, the device will not pass internet traffic and will only communicate with NetCloud Manager until the device receives an active license.
