This document outlines the configuration options for Router Information Protocol next generation (RIPng), a widely used interior gateway protocol. RIPng operates as a distance-vector protocol based on the Bellman-Ford algorithm. In this model, RIP routers periodically exchange updates with neighboring routers, enabling convergence to a known network topology. Each update communicates the distance to specific networks, facilitating efficient routing. The router supports both RIP version 2, as defined in RFC 2453, and RIP version 1, as described in RFC 1058.
