Creating VLANs and Trunked VLAN Configurations on Cradlepoint Routers

Use the following steps to assign a VLAN to a local network.  

  1. Log into NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Devices in the left-side navigation panel.

  3. Select a router from the Routers page. Alternatively, to make configuration changes to a group, navigate to the Groups page and select a group.

  4. Select Configuration and then Edit.

  5. Navigate to NETWORKING > Local Networks > Local IP Networks.

  6. Select the LAN to assign the VLAN, and then click Edit.

    The General Setting tab displays.

  7. Ensure that Enabled is selected on the General Settings screen.

  8. In the Name field, enter a name for the network.

  9. On the IPv4 Settings screen, enter the IP address for the Ericsson Cradlepoint router on this network.

  10. Click Interfaces, select one of the VLAN interfaces from the Available Interfaces area, and then click -> to move it to the Selected Interfaces area.

    Note

    You can add multiple interfaces, including Wi-Fi, to each network as necessary.

  11. Select Save to save this network.

  12. Repeat steps 6 through 11 until all VIDs coming over trunked Ethernet port 1 are associated with networks.

  13. Verify that the VLANs are attached to your network by navigating back to the main Local IP Networks screen. See the Attached Interfaces section to verify your VLAN is attached to the network.

    Note

    To allow the networks to communicate with one another, or to use the router's WAN interfaces, the appropriate rules must be added to the router's Zone Firewall.
