1.

Does the endpoint have sufficient internet connectivity to reach Ericsson Cradlepoint stream servers?

While non-default stream configurations might block connections, temporary local internet interruptions can also prevent the endpoint from connecting to the service. Ensure the endpoint has stable internet connectivity. Note that successful stream connections require valid Network Time Protocol (NTP) and Domain Name System (DNS) services from the network.

2.

Does the endpoint have the default NetCloud Server Host Port value?

In NetCloud OS (NCOS) releases prior to 7.2.20, the default NetCloud Server Host Port configuration could be modified. This value must remain as stream.cradlepointecm.com by default. Changing it to a different fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or a single IP address is unsupported and can cause the endpoint to disconnect from the NetCloud service. If modified, reset it to the default value.

3.

Does the endpoint have any DNS Known Host entries in the configuration?

Check the endpoint’s configuration to ensure no DNS Known Hosts entries are defined for stream.cradlepointecm.com. These entries override standard DNS resolution and prevent the endpoint from accessing the latest IP addresses for stream connections. If such entries exist, remove them to restore proper DNS resolution.

4.

Does the endpoint connect to a private network with an upstream internet gateway?

If the endpoint is connected to a private network (wired or wireless) without direct internet access, verify that the upstream internet gateway or firewall allows traffic to the FQDN stream.cradlepointecm.com. If the firewall policy cannot allow FQDNs, contact Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions Support to request the NetCloud Static IP option.

Note

It is a best practice to always use the FQDN stream.cradlepointecm.com, as the resolved list of IP addresses may change over time. For further guidance, see Firewall Ports and Protocols for Cloud Connectivity.

5.

Does the endpoint have traffic steering rules for NetCloud stream traffic?

Some customers may need to statically steer NetCloud service traffic to a specific WAN interface. This capability is only available to customers who have contacted Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions Support to enable the NetCloud Static IP option.

If your configuration includes traffic steering rules like the example below, remove these rules unless your account has NetCloud Static IP enabled. Once enabled, ensure all IP addresses provided with NetCloud Static IP are included in the traffic steering configuration.

Note

It is a best practice to always use the FQDN stream.cradlepointecm.com, as the resolved list of IP addresses may change over time. For further guidance, see Firewall Ports and Protocols for Cloud Connectivity.
