The Commands menu on the Network Interfaces page contains commands related to upgrading modem software. Select a modem to access these options.
Note
The Commands menu is only available for modems and is unavailable for all other interfaces.
Select Commands in the top toolbar to open a drop-down menu and view the following options:
Manage Modem Software – Allows for checking, upgrading, and switching software as applicable to the modem model. Note that modems must be online before their software can be upgraded. For more information, see Upgrading Modem Software Using NetCloud Manager.
Check for New Modem Software – Checks whether there is new modem software is available. This will not cause a network interruption.
Upgrade Modem Software – Causes a network interruption. It may be preferable to wait for reduced traffic times to upgrade.
Switch Carrier – Use with devices that can switch the modem software to a different carrier. This feature, Multi-Carrier Software-Defined Radio, is only available for LPE devices (for example, COR IBR1100LPE-VZ) with at least software 5.3.0. See NCOS: Multi-Carrier Software-Defined Radio (Carrier Switching) for more information.
PUK Unlock – Enabled if the selected modem's SIM is locked and therefore requires a PUK code to be unlocked. The PUK unlock will not work if the modem is the only connection to the internet. There needs to be an alternative connection, such as a WAN Ethernet port or dual modems.
The status for each of these selections appears in the Modem FW Status column. Possible statuses include the following:
