The Enable Usage Reporting setting controls the time intervals for when usage data is streamed from devices to NetCloud Manager. This data is used in data usage reports created on the NetCloud Manager Insights page using the Network > Data Usage report.

The Enable Usage Reporting setting is enabled by default, with a default reporting interval of one hour. The reporting interval can be set to a value ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours. A shorter reporting interval provides a more accurate representation of data usage for a given time period.

Note

The process of sending data usage from devices to NetCloud Manager also consumes data. Shorter reporting intervals result in more overall data usage than longer reporting intervals.

To adjust the data usage reporting interval, use the following directions.

  1. Log into NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Groups in the left-side navigation panel.

    Note

Devices must belong to a NetCloud Manager Group for data usage reporting purposes. If a device is not already part of a group, it must be moved into a group.

  3. Select a group.

  4. Click Settings.

  5. Toggle on Usage Reporting.

  6. (Optional) Use the slider to adjust the reporting interval.

  7. Click Save.

    Important

Changes to the Usage Reporting setting do not take effect until a device reconnects to NetCloud Manager. You can force a device to reconnect to NetCloud Manager by rebooting the device.
