Use data usage alerts to send alert notifications when data usage for devices reaches user-defined thresholds. Data usage alerts can be configured to send email notifications when a data usage threshold is reached, and also at user- defined intervals before the threshold is reached.
Cradlepoint recommends setting up data usage alerts so you are aware of any data usage issues.
Important
Devices must belong to a NetCloud Manager Group for data usage reporting purposes. If a device is not already part of a group, it must be moved into a group.
The following procedure describes how to configure data usage alerts for a modem WAN profile, as applied to a NetCloud Manager Group.
Log into NetCloud Manager.
Click in the left-side navigation panel.
Select the desired group.
Select and then .
From the Connection Manager screen, scroll down to the WAN Management area and click the Data Usage tab.

Click Save.
Locate the LTE/3G Multi-mode Modems profile and click the gear icon in the Data Usage

From the WAN Management > Data Usage screen, select a data usage monitoring cycle by clicking the Monthly, Weekly, or Daily tabs. A combination of monthly, weekly, and daily monitoring cycles can be configured, each with their own settings. In the following example, a monthly data usage cycle is used with the following settings:
Monthly Usage Cap is set to 5,000 MB.
Shutdown on Cap is selected to disable any LTE/3G Multi-mode Modems when the usage cap is reached.
Alert on Cap is selected to send an alert when the usage cap is reached.
Custom Alerts is selected to send an alert notification when 85% of the usage cap is reached.
