Complete the following steps to configure the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Transit Gateway (TGW):

  1. Log into the AWS console, then to the VPC Console.

  2. Navigate to Transit Gateways.

  3. Select Create transit gateway.

  4. Configure the following settings:

    1. Name tag: Transit Gateway (Example value for this guide.)

    2. Description: This setting is optional.

    3. Amazon side Autonomous System Number (ASN): 64512 (Example value for this guide.)

    4. CIDR: 192.0.2.0/24 (Example value for this guide. Any unused IP block can be used here. This is used as an outside peering IP address on the Transit Gateway to the service gateways.)

      Note

      After pasting or typing the CIDR into the text field, select it in the menu that appears:

      Example menu with the entered CIDR.
  5. The page should look like the following:

    Create transit gateway page with example setting values.
  6. Select Create Transit Gateway.

  7. Wait until the Transit Gateway is in the available state before proceeding.
