Once the adapter is secure and has been added to NetCloud Manager, the adapter can be enabled in the Active Cellular backup role.

  1. Log into NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Devices in the left-side navigation panel.

  3. Select the device name to enable.

    The Router dashboard displays.

  4. Select the Interfaces tab and make sure that both the Ethernet LAN2 port and the Cellular interface are active. LAN2 port is set by default to IPPT mode. The Cellular interface should also default to AutoAPN and connect to the correct service provider network with the correct APN.

    • If a Private APN is being used, you may need to use the Manual APNM process.

    • See Troubleshooting No Internet or Connection Issues to troubleshoot connection issues.

      Note

The LAN2 port is the PoE port to provide power to the adapter, which is PoE powered only.

After verifying the interfaces’ status in NetCloud Manager, the adapter should be fully operational in IPPT mode as an active path for the primary router to which it is connected. The primary router is responsible for routing decisions and its own security, whether using its main wired connection or the active adapter cellular connection.
