This NCVD gives an overview of design and implementation best practices to aid an IT organization in the rollout and activation of a large number of L950 adapters by utilizing the flexibility and ease of management of NetCloud Manager GROUP configuration.

When an L950 adapter order is received, Ericson Enterprise Wireless operations team adds the L950 device information into the customer's NetCloud Manager account and places it into the corresponding device group. The L950 adapter is then shipped to the customer. Once the customer receives the adapter, powers it up, and makes a successful connection to the Internet, the adapter connects to NetCloud Manager and starts the process of downloading the group configuration to the new adapter automatically. This is repeated for every device that comes online in the group.

The L950 is a Branch adapter and runs in one of four modes as outlined in Branch Adapter Operating Modes.

The second LAN port is used as the IP Passthrough port and powers the L950 adapter. The first LAN port (LAN1) is used in this configuration to access and be a part of the local third- party’s router LAN. This LAN1 local VLAN connection is used as part of Remote Connect, Ericsson Enterprise Wireless’s advanced OOBM solution.

Note

The examples in this document are for GROUP configurations. However, some settings are unique to the local device and need to be applied to endpoints individually. These differences are highlighted in the sections below.
