Complete the following steps to create a virtual network:

  1. In the Azure portal, click Virtual networks in the list of Azure services.

  2. Select Create.

  3. Select the desired resource group.

  4. Enter a descriptive name for the virtual network.

  5. Select the region that matches the resource group's region.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Select an IPv4 address space large enough to allow for independent subnets for each interface (WAN and LAN). For example, 10.18.0.0/24.

  8. Configure the additional subnet(s):

    1. Click Add subnet.

    2. Enter the WAN subnet name.

    3. Enter the subnet address range.

    4. Select Add.

    5. Repeat this process to add the LAN subnet.

  9. Select Review + create.

  10. Select Create.

A notification appears in the top-right corner of the screen after the virtual network is created.
