Deployment Guide

This guide provides instructions for two methods to deploy a NetCloud Virtual Edge in an Azure environment:

  • Method 1 – Uses the template provided by Ericsson Enterprise Wireless to deploy supporting resources for a NetCloud Virtual Edge.

  • Method 2 – Manually creates each resource within the Azure Portal for a NetCloud Virtual Edge.

Deployment Method 1

Following are the main tasks to deploy a NetCloud Virtual Edge using a custom template:

  1. Request the NetCloud Virtual Edge virtual machine (VM) image for Azure.

  2. Customize and use the template to create the following items:

    • Resource group

    • Virtual network

    • Subnets

    • Network interface controllers (NICs)

    • Network security groups

  3. Deploy the VM.

  4. Register the NetCloud Virtual Edge VM in NetCloud Manager.

Deployment Method 2

Following are the high-level steps to deploy a NetCloud Virtual Edge in an Azure environment by creating each resource:

  1. Request the NetCloud Virtual Edge VM image for Azure.

  2. Create a resource group.

  3. Create a virtual network.

    • Create unique subnets for each interface.

  4. Create a network security group.

  5. Create the interfaces (WAN and LAN).

  6. Associate a public IP address and enable IP forwarding.

  7. Create the user-defined route.

  8. Create the VM.

  9. Deploy the VM.

  10. Register the NetCloud Virtual Edge VM in NetCloud Manager.
