This guide provides instructions for two methods to deploy a NetCloud Virtual Edge in an Azure environment:
Method 1 – Uses the template provided by Ericsson Enterprise Wireless to deploy supporting resources for a NetCloud Virtual Edge.
Method 2 – Manually creates each resource within the Azure Portal for a NetCloud Virtual Edge.
Deployment Method 1
Following are the main tasks to deploy a NetCloud Virtual Edge using a custom template:
Request the NetCloud Virtual Edge virtual machine (VM) image for Azure.
Customize and use the template to create the following items:
Resource group
Virtual network
Subnets
Network interface controllers (NICs)
Network security groups
Deploy the VM.
Register the NetCloud Virtual Edge VM in NetCloud Manager.
Deployment Method 2
Following are the high-level steps to deploy a NetCloud Virtual Edge in an Azure environment by creating each resource:
Request the NetCloud Virtual Edge VM image for Azure.
Create a resource group.
Create a virtual network.
Create unique subnets for each interface.
Create a network security group.
Create the interfaces (WAN and LAN).
Associate a public IP address and enable IP forwarding.
Create the user-defined route.
Create the VM.
Deploy the VM.
Register the NetCloud Virtual Edge VM in NetCloud Manager.
