  11. Select the virtual disk format.

    • Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed – Reserves all the space designated for the disk when it is created but does not erase the data remaining on the physical device. Data is only cleared when the VM writes new data for the first time to the disk. It is created more quickly but has a lower performance for the first writes.

    • Thin Provision – Allocates storage on-demand based on user requirements. In thin storage, as the user consumes their allocated storage space, more is allocated.

    • Thick Provision Eager Zeroed – Creates a VM disk in a default thick format. All of the required space for virtual disk files is reserved when the VM is created.

Select storage screen highlighting the virtual disk format options.

    Note

Either a thick or thin virtual disk format may be selected.

  12. Select the policy per requirements from the VM Storage Policy drop-down menu.

  13. Select the data store from the list and click Next.

Select storage screen highlighting the NEXT button.
  14. Select the Destination Network for each interface and click Next.
