Resetting Modems to Troubleshoot OTA Issues

Complete the following steps to reset a modem.

  1. Log into NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Devices in the left-side navigation panel.

  3. Select the desired router.

  4. Select the Remote Connect menu and then select Device UI.

  5. Select Open Device UI.

  6. Log in to the device from the LOGIN screen. The default username is "admin". Default passwords are supplied with routers.

  7. From Connection Manager, select the interface.

  8. Select Control.

  9. Select Reset.

    Note

    Control Actions are executed directly on a modem interface. When you click an action button, the action executes immediately. Available actions vary, depending on carrier and status of the modem. Possible actions:

    • Reset: Power cycle the modem. This will have the same effect as unplugging the modem.

    • Defaults: Restore the modem to its factory default settings.

    • Activate: Activate the modem on its service provider's network.PRL Update: Update the modem's Preferred Roaming List (PRL)

    • FUMO: Perform an Over The Air update of the modem's firmware

    • PUK Unlock: Enter a PIN Unlock Key (PUK) to reset the SIM PIN. The SIM is locked due to too many invalid PIN submissions. The PIN will be set to the currently configured PIN. If no PIN is configured, the SIM will be unlocked (no PIN required).

  10. Monitor Connection Manager for a SIM connection.

    If the device reverts to "Waiting OTA"

    • Contact your carrier regarding the SIM.

    • Try in another like device.
