Stratum time refers to a hierarchical time synchronization system in which clocks are synchronized to reference clocks that are progressively closer to a trusted time source. The Stratum Time Failover feature synchronizes system time with the cellular network when a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server is not reachable. This feature requires at least one active SIM card.

Stratum Time Failover requires NetCloud OS 7.23.60 or later and is enabled by default.

Important

Stratum Time Failover remains active (when enabled) even when NTP is unavailable due to an unreachable server or when NTP is disabled. To reduce the amount of data used by the active SIM, you can disable Stratum Time Failover. Remember to disable Stratum Time Failover before disabling NTP.
