The Address Resolution Protocol automatically saves information about every device a router has communicated with over a physical connection. The information is stored in a cache, which is then displayed in NetCloud Manager on the device-specific Router/APs dashboard.
The ARP feature speeds up network traffic by making a record of the physical addresses and associated IP addresses, so that the matching MAC to IP pair does not need to be discovered for every packet of data sent. Without this type of record ARP would need to send out a broadcast message to all devices in that specific subnet to find the receiver MAC address.
