When a configuration's default-array elements are updated in a group’s configuration, and then removed from the router’s individual configuration, the router’s target configuration can be calculated in an unexpected way and result in configuration errors. This issue most often occurs in the configuration of VLAN ports.

When this occurs:

  • A group configuration modifies a default list element

  • The router’s individual configuration removes that default list element

Symptoms:

  • The default list element isn’t removed from the router’s target configuration. This can lead to potential conflicts and configuration errors if another addition to the target configuration relies on that element's removal.

  • An item that was removed from the group configuration unexpectedly reappears in the target configuration.
