- Use 2nd Cradlepoint to extend two SSIDs from a 1st CP
- Setup a Cradlepoit router as an access point extending curent wireless network
- Mimic wifi bridge functionality on a Cradlepoint that doesn't have it
- Allow devices connecting to the Office or Guest WiFi networks of one router to directly communicate with corresponding devices of another router
- Cradlepoint router that does NOT support WiFi Bridge mode
- Multiple SSIDs need to be extended
- A wired connection between the two Cradlepoint routers
- Configure router 2 (the extender) with the same LAN and SSID names as router 1
- NOTE: Use a non-overlapping IP within the same subnet on router 2. For example if router 1 Primary LAN is 192.168.0.1, on router 2's Primary LAN we'd use 192.168.0.2
- Configure a trunked VLAN interface on both router 1 and router 2 for each LAN that needs to be extended: NCOS: VLAN & Trunking Configuration
- For example, if Primary LAN and Guest LAN both need to be extended, we'd configure Port 1, tagged with VID10 and VID20, and we would attach port1-VID10 to the Primary LAN of both routers, and port2-VID20 to the Guest LAN of both routers
- Connect an Ethernet cable between ethernet port 1 of router 1 and ethernet port 1 of router 2
- Disable the DHCP server on all LANs on router 2 for the LANs that will be extending router 1
- If your router model support WiFi Bridge mode, just use that instead
