Where can I see if my modem is using LTE-Advanced/LTE-A?

  1. Log in to your Cradlepoint Device locally
  2. Go to Status>Internet>Connections
  3. Select your modem at the top of the screen
  4. Scroll down and click on the "Cellular Networks" tab
  5. There will be a field called "Carrier Aggregation"-if it shows "Active" you're using LTE-Advanced
  • LTE-Advanced works by allowing the modem to connect on multiple RF Bands at the same to to get faster speeds.  This is known as "Carrier Aggregation"
  • When the modem is idle, it will rarely use LTE-Advanced.  You will usually need to trigger it by using data. Try running a speed test or streaming video and then checking if "Carrier Aggregation" shows active.
  • In order to use LTE-Advanced, the cell towers in your area need to support it.  If "Carrier Aggregation" is always showing "Inactive" or "Unregistered", contact your carrier to ensure that your location supports LTE-Advanced.
