Configuration Guide

Complete the following steps to create an organization within an account.

Caution

Endpoints that are part of a NetCloud Exchange (NCX) network cannot be added, moved, or returned to a new or existing organization. Remove the endpoint from the network before adding to an organization.

  1. Log into Ericsson NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select Account from the left-hand menu.

  3. Select Organizations.

  4. Select Add.

    The Information page displays.

  5. Select Create a New Organization (default).

  6. Update the following as needed:

    Note

Each organization must have a unique name.

    • Name: Add the name of an organization

    • Description: Update the description of the organization

    • Idle Timeout: The amount of user-inactivity time that must elapse before a user is automatically logged out of NCM.

    • Maximum Session Duration: The amount of time that must elapse before a user is automatically logged out, regardless of activity.

    • System Administrator Email: The email address of the primary system administrator for the organization.

    • Force MFA:: Allows an organization administrator to require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all users in an organization. When Force MFA is enabled, users are required to provide an additional authentication (MFA) credential when logging into NetCloud OS. Users must configure a device (typically a mobile phone, PC, or tablet) with a TOTP application, linked to their NCM account, to generate MFA login credentials when logging into NCM. This MFA login credential is entered by the user, after entering their email address and password, to complete the login process.

    • Enhanced Login Security: When enabled, account login security is increased using the following methods.

      • A user’s account is locked after six failed login attempts

      • User accounts with no activity for 90 days are automatically disabled

      • User passwords must be changed every 90 days

      • Users cannot reuse any of their last four passwords when changing their password

        Note

SSO-enabled accounts do not have this option since NetCloud does not manage passwords for these acounts.

Users who are locked out due to six failed login attempts have their account automatically unlocked after 30 minutes. Users receive an email notification when their account is locked. Account administrators can unlock a locked user account before the 30 minute window expires.

Users whose accounts are disabled after 90 days of inactivity must contact their account administrator to have their account enabled again.

For additional information, see NetCloud Manager Enhanced Login Security.

  7. Select Next.

    The Users page displays.

  8. From the grid on the Users page, select all users to add to the organization.

  9. For each user, select the Edit icon on the following columns and update as needed:

    • Destination User Type: Select either User (Migrate) or Org Collaborator.

      Note

Migrating a user moves their account-level access into the organization and removes existing access to the current root account and all existing subaccounts. To preserve account-level access, assign them as an Org Collaborator. See Review Access Requirements of Users Before Migrating to an Organization.

    • Designation User Administrator: Select Yes or No.

    • Destination NetCloud Role: Select the appropriate role: Admin, Full Access, Read Only Diagnostic, or Read Only.

  10. Select Next.

    The Assets page displays.

  11. For Wireless WAN assets, select Routers/APs.

    • From the grid, select ungrouped assets to migrate to the new organization. The selected assets will be transferred from the account, along with their management and settings.

      Caution

Endpoints that are part of a NetCloud Exchange (NCX) network cannot be added, moved, or returned to a new or existing organization. Remove the endpoint from the network before adding to an organization.

      Caution

When assets are moved from the account to an organization or from an organization back to the account, some historical data may be lost. See Potential Data Loss When Migrating Assets Between Organizations and Accounts for more information.

  12. For Private 5G assets, select Private 5G Equipment.

    Note

This option appears only if the root account has Private 5G subscriptions.

    • From the grid, select all asset groups to add to the organization.

      • An asset group is a set of Ericsson Private 5G equipment and subscriptions. The Equipment Items column in the grid lists the number of items in the group. Asset groups are created automatically when a network is ordered through Ericsson. Only unassigned asset groups are listed in the grid.

      • Selected asset groups will migrate from the account to the new organization, transferring their management, licenses, and settings. This determines which networks, equipment, and licenses are available within the organization.

      • You can migrate up to 10 asset groups at a time.

      Caution

When assets are moved from the account to an organization or from an organization back to the account, some historical data may be lost. See Potential Data Loss When Migrating Assets Between Organizations and Accounts for more information.

  13. Select Next.

    The Licenses page displays.

  14. From the grid on Licenses page, locate the subscription type required for the new organization.

    Note

For Private 5G, subscriptions and licenses are included with the selected asset groups from the previous step.

  15. For each Subscription, select the edit icon in the right column and then specify the number for licenses to move to the organization.

    Note

Selected licenses will migrate from the account to the new organization, transferring their management. Licenses already assigned to the assets selected in the previous step will automatically be migrated.

  16. Select Next.

    The Summary page displays.

  17. From the Summary page, review the details of the organization. You can update some details from this Summary page or select Previous to return to any page to make required changes.

  18. Select Finish.

The organization creation begins. A status notification appears in the lower-right corner while the operation is in progress. When complete, the organization appears in the grid on the Organizations page.
