An eSIM slot must be specified when using plastic eSIMs for the following routers in NetCloud OS (NCOS) to use eSIM feature.

  • S400/450

  • S700/750

Important

If a plastic eSIM is removed from a router and installed in another router, the router where the eSIM was removed from must be rebooted. Rebooting the router where the plastic eSIM was previously installed clears the plastic eSIM settings on the router. If these settings are not cleared, the plastic eSIM can't be activated for use in other routers.

Use the following procedure to specify the SIM slot.

  1. Login to NetCloud Manager.

  2. Select the router to enable the eSIM feature on from the Devices > Routers page.

  3. Select Configuration > Edit.

  4. Scroll to the WAN Management section and select the SIM Slots and PDN/PDU Enabled tab on the Connection Manager page.

  5. Set the SIM slot in the SIM Slots Enabled drop-down menu to where the plastic eSIM is installed. For example, select SIM Slot 1 Only if the plastic eSIM is installed in SIM slot 1.

    Important

When using plastic eSIMs, setting the enabled SIM slot to Dual SIM or SIM Slot 2 Only causes the eSIM activation to fail.

  6. Select Save and then select Commit to save this setting.
